Cambrian Black

February 13, 2012

A Canadian Stone great for Canadian countertops. Available on short notice, this shiny black has a little texture to it. Note the photographer in the reflection. Black granites tend to shine up quite well. Similar dark glassy granites would be Galaxy Black and Absolute Black.

Lennon

We blocked off Broad Street early one Sunday morning and used a giant crane to put a huge chunk of this into someone’s condo! It is a nice crisp material well priced and available on short notice from our supplier.

Ibere Mombasa

This material reminds me of a Van Gogh painting. It is a work of art – each slab different and willing to tell a great story to anyone who drops by your house for a shot of brandy and good conversation. It is available within a week and priced to sell!

New Material: Cinderalla Blue VC

February 7, 2012

We have never used this product – it has a wonderful texture and a real "granite" look to it. If you’re climbing mountains in the Himalayas and you stop for a quit spot of tea you can expect the rock face beside you to look EXACTLY like this! Well, maybe not exactly, but pretty close. This material is a premium product that is available to us and is available weekly from this supplier.

New Venetian Gold

February 7, 2012

A staple at our shop, this item is called New Venetian Gold. It is very similar to a number of stones which we interchange regularly including Giallo Ornimental, New Ornimental and St. Cecelia. The stone has a soft texture with browns and blacks ( a few cranberry reds too) and really goes well with all sorts of wood colours. And it is on the low end of the price scale…so anyone can afford it! This picture is courtesy of our friends at Stone Holding, one of our suppliers.
